The Camera.

i really started getting into taking pictures when i got my camera for my 14th birthday... although i got it 5 months before my birthday. the reason i got it so early was because we were taking a final trip to florida before i went into high school [because we all know if you miss too much high school you fail]. the other FUJI camera just wouldn't cut it for me:

1.) because it's 3.4 mexapixels.
2.) because it has no image stabilizer, and thus every picture taken [even with flash] is blurry.

so i returned home one day in march to find my mother bought me a canon powershot 8.0 megapixel ELPH [SD870] digi cam. she bought it in march one month before we went to florida in april, because she figured i needed a month to get used to it and figure out how to use it. WELL let me tell you, i played with that camera 24/7 and had it completely figured out within a week. i took LOTS of pics in florida and on all my trips after it. or just around the house and garden.

FEATURES:

auto: has auto flash and auto ISO on, so you don't have to play around with it for the right picture. also has a macro setting.
manual: lets you set the flash and ISO yourself, also other settings.
digital macro: for extremely close up shots. no flash allowed here.
SCN: settings such as aquarium, underwater, fireworks, night time, snow, beach, indoor, kids & pets, foliage... it's basically a bunch of pre-set adjustments for different picture taking niches.
colour accent: allows you to select one colour to be shown and all other colours are washed out with greyscale.
colour swap: allows you to select two colours, one as the switcher and one as the switchee. for example: select a grape for the switcher, and cheese for the switchee, and you'll end up with purlpe cheese.
stitching assistant: helps you line up pictures for stitching together on your computer into a panoramic view.
video camera: on my 2 gigabyte memory card can take up to 15 minutes of video footage.

there is just too many features on this camera... it's great and i love it. so for all you people out there who don't want to carry around a big huge lensed camera, this is the camera for you. i haven't got a bad picture out of it yet. the software that comes with it is pretty much useless... unless you like to have every picture in a different folder, that's all the software does pretty much. windows picture and fax viewer is a much easier picture viewing software and most computers have it pre-installed when you get one. anywho i'll stop ranting and get on with the pictures. enjoy, my pets.
